Melrose Camps Courses

With courses ranging from Digital Arts to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), the Melrose Camps give students a chance to explore and learn in a fun and exciting environment with hands-on activities in the Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center. Create your own music. Learn to record, edit and mix digital music using Logic Pro X and MIDI devices in this 5-day camp. This is a 5-day camp. The camp runs 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Age requirements: 11-17. Capacity: 8. Required Skills: Basic computer., Materials Fee:, $25, Out of District Fee:, $75 (includes classes and materials fee) Day 1: Create the rhythm, melody and initial arrangement for the single. Day 2: Record a piano track using Software Instruments and complete pre-production for recording. Day 3: Record the featured artist(s) in the Audio Recording Studio. The camp runs 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday. Age requirements: 9-12. Capacity: 8. Day 2: Find out how to operate professional studio video cameras, recording a short film of yourself, and showcase your movie on television screen. Registration is required. Library account must be at zero balance in order to attend a class or camp. Non-Library cardholders may attend by paying a $10 non-refundable class registration fee and any applicable materials fee for each class or each camp day at the time of registration. Materials fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another class, camp or person under any circumstances. Cancellation must be made by 11:59 p.m. the day before the start of the class or camp to avoid a late cancellation fee. You must attend the first day of camp in order to participate in the rest of the camp. Failure to attend the first day of camp will result in a $15 no show fee. After attending the first day of camp, a $5 fee will be assessed each day absent during the camp. For more information, please read the Class and Camp Registration and Cancellation guidelines.
