Ancestry Library Edition
Now available from home through March 31, 2021.

Ancestry Library Edition provides easy access to more than 7,000 genealogy databases and 200 billion images with a single search. Collections provide information on individuals from North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, and more. Updates and new content are always being added. U.S. databases include the complete U.S. Census & Index (1790-1940), vital, church, court, and immigration records. Other notable collections include Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage Books; Social Security Death Index (updated monthly); WWI Draft Registration Cards; Federal Slave Narratives; and a strong Civil War collection. The Map Center contains more than 1,000 historical maps. Many international records are available. Canadian collections provide nearly 60 million records from the Census of Canada; and key vital records, such as the Drouin Collection (1621-1967), which includes nearly 30 million baptism, marriage, and burial records from Quebec. U.K. collections offer censuses for England, Wales, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, and Scotland, with nearly 200 million records; Births and Baptisms (1834-1906), Marriage Licenses (1521-1869), Deaths and Burials (1834-1934), and Poor Law Records (1840-1938) in London; and more. Other international collections continue to grow with more than 46 million records from German census, vital records, emigration indexes, ship lists, phone directories, and more; Chinese surnames in the large and growing Jiapu Collection of Chinese lineage books; Jewish family history records from Eastern Europe and Russia; and more. Answers await everyone—whether professional or hobbyist, expert or novice, genealogist, or historian.

Archives of Sexuality and Gender

Archives of Sexuality and Gender: LGBTQ History and Culture provides rare and unique documentation of LGBTQ history through fully-searchable newsletters, government documents, manuscripts, pamphlets, and other types of primary sources. Selection of materials is guided by an advisory board consisting of leading scholars and librarians in sexuality and gender studies.

Culinary Arts (Gale OneFile)

The Gale OneFile: Culinary Arts offers a smorgasbord of information—more than five million articles from more than 250 major cooking and nutrition magazines.

eBooks (Gale)

In Gale eBooks find more than 60 reference e-books on history, business, medicine, religion, social science, literature, education, art, the world, and more. A few titles include: Business Plans Handbook; Novels for Students; Newsmakers; Scholarships, Fellowships, and Loans; Environmental Encyclopedia; American Decades; and Countries of the World. Search for reference information, and read a short snippet or the full-book. These e-books can be read online, listened to from the database, or downloaded to your personal computer.

FEL: Florida Electronic Library

The Florida Electronic Library, administered by the Florida Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services, is a gateway to reputable resources that offers access to comprehensive, accurate, and reliable information from a collection of Gale Cengage databases. Available resources include electronic magazines, newspapers, almanacs, encyclopedias, and books that give information about current events, education, business, technology, health issues, and Florida history. The Florida Electronic Library offers homework help for K through 12 students and resources for teachers. Find material for your research needs with more than 50 databases at your fingertips.

This database searches: 100,000+ foundations, corporate giving programs, and grant making public U.S. charities; more than 4,000 sponsoring companies, offering a quick pathway to corporate funders; over 2.4 million recently awarded grants; 700,000+ recently filed IRS Forms 990 and 990-PF.  

Genealogy Connect (Gale)

Includes genealogy-related topics such as Royal and Noble, Immigration, Native American, and Colonial & Revolutionary. It has intuitive searching options that help researchers find information easily. Gale Genealogy Connect allows users to search across multiple volumes, identifying connections and enriching family history.

This database contains a complete listing (nearly 10,000) of foundations that give grants to individuals. It describes giving for a variety of purposes, including arts and cultural projects, general welfare, scholarships, student loans, fellowships, program development, internships, professorships, research, as well as awards and grants by nomination only. It may be used as both a grant seeker’s guide and a reference tool for those interested in foundation giving.

Interested in learning more about your family tree? Beginner and professional genealogists can use this resource to trace family histories and American culture from the comfort of their home.
