The Hiawassee Branch will be moving from the Park Promenade Center, and reopening at the Highland Lakes Center in Early 2010. It will occupy approximately 14,000 square feet and be located in the space formerly used by Office Max. The Branch’s new neighbors include: American Signature Furniture, Bed Bath & Beyond, Burlington Coat Factory, K & G Fashions, Marshall's, and Ross Dress for Less.

About the Branch

The Hiawassee Branch began as a bookmobile station in 1962 and was first known as the Pine Hills Library. In later moves the branch became the West Colonial branch and in March 2000, Hiawassee. Located in the Park Promenade shopping center, the branch is underneath what looks like a circus tent!

Services and Programs

• The library collection includes books, audio books (tape and CD), informational and entertainment DVDs, recorded music CDs, Playaways, and an Adult Literacy Collection. View the languages we have material for at this location.
• Public computers offering Internet access, word processing and online reference resources including the Library catalog.
• One meeting room is available for public use by groups. Please contact the branch for more information.
• Regularly scheduled Smarty Pants Story Program each week.
• Various programs and displays for adults and children are offered throughout the year.
