Notice Regarding the InterLibrary Loan (ILL) Program
The Library continues to focus on reducing costs while causing the least impact on services. The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program has been utilized by a very small percentage of our users over the last year. In fact only 341 unique borrowers have accessed the program and have generated less than 1,000 requests for a 12 month period. This translates into a high cost per transaction since a minimum infrastructure for staff and other costs for technology must remain in place, no matter how many requests are made. Effective June 11, 2010, the Library will no longer accept new ILL requests.
OCLS remains committed to providing access to quality materials for our users. Our collection contains over 350,000 titles and an additional 30,000 titles in electronic formats ranging from eBooks to audiobooks which can be moved to your computer, eReader or MP3 player. We have over 60 databases indexing hundreds of magazines and newspapers, many in full text. There are other electronic resources that can be used, such as Google Scholar, Project Gutenberg, Project Bartleby, and Bibliomania. Our staff is well trained to assist you in using these resources to access needed materials.
