How to Locate a MAC Address in Windows XP, WIN 95-98, or ME
1. Click on the Start menu on the taskbar.
2. Click on Programs, then Accessories, and then Command Prompt.

3. If the computer is running on a Windows XP operating system type: ipconfig /all (make sure there’s a space after ipconfig)
4. If the computer is running on a WIN 95-98, or ME operating system, type: winipcfg
5. Press the Enter key on the keyboard.

6. Look for text that states “Wireless Network Connection”.
7. Locate the Physical Address and next to it is the 12 alpha-numeric Mac address.

Some laptops may have an external NIC card. The 12 alphanumeric MAC address is printed on the back:

How to Find the MAC Address in Windows Vista
- Click on the Windows Orb (Start Button).
- Type “cmd” in the search box.

- Click on cmd in the Search Results window.
- This will open the Command Prompt.
- Type “ipconfig /all” then press the Enter key. Note the MAC address under the wireless adapter.
