If you are viewing this page from home, you will need your Orange County resident library card to access some of the resources.

Go Green with Orange

The Orange County Library System is doing its part to help keep our community green. To save trees and eliminate undue waste, many of our services are "paperless."

We send e-mail reminders of when materials are due as well as e-mail reminders of computer class registrations. The library system also uses text messaging to send alerts for coming due dates and class reminders. These services are part of our ongoing efforts to make sure OCLS is environmentally friendly.

We're excited to offer a recycling program at South Creek. This program, sponsored by Paper Retriever Recycling, lets you be green and support the Library. The branch has a large recycling bin for community members to deposit papers, magazines, mail - anything paper except textbooks and hardcover books. For more information check out Paper Retriever or gather your scrap paper and come visit South Creek to participate in this pilot program! The company retrieves the paper and based on weight the Library is rewarded with a check.

We also offer reusable bags...

Go Green with Orange
OCLS reusable library bags are just $1.41 (plus sales tax). They are durable and efficient. They help preserve our planet every time you visit the Library. Purchase yours today from any library location and "Go Green with Orange."
