Be Your Own Child's Health Advocate
Third Tuesday of the Month
January - June
Winter Garden Branch


Join us for a family health series presented to you by Dr. Matthew Roe of the Upper Cervical Health Centers of America. Health topics include, Overcoming Childhood Ear Infections, Function vs. Fashion, Overcoming Childhood Asthma, the Fast Food Dilemma, the Price of a Childhood Fall, and Food Allergies and the Aware Parent.

 

University of Florida Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. beginning January 12
Eatonville Branch


This six-week long course will cover the various food groups, food safety, the importance of reading labels and how to save money on food purchasing. Participants will have fun while learning to prepare healthy meals for their family, including a chance to taste simple recipes in class. Those that complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Florida. Skills gained from the class could help in getting employment in the food industry and/or in jobs where basic knowledge of nutrition and food safety is needed or required. Counsel for Caregivers Seminar

Having trouble juggling your work and caregiving responsibilities? Let us lend you a helping hand of healing at the Counsel for Caregivers Seminar. Each month, a different organization will visit the Orlando Public Library to present information and resources to help caregivers ease their workload. Edith Gendron, with Emeritus, will discuss Selecting a nursing home or assisted living facility. Attend this seminar presented by OCLS, Orange County’s Commission on Aging and WFTV Channel 9 and bring balance to your life. Registration required.
