Art Museums of Central Florida
The Orlando Museum of Art houses three permanent collections: The American Art Collection, The Art of the Ancient Americas Collection, and The African Art Collection. The museum features a new theme during its "1st Thursdays" art parties from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month.
The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art showcases the world's most comprehensive collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany's works, including Tiffany jewelry, leaded-glass windows, paintings, art
glass, and pottery.
The Mennello Museum of American Art features a gallery of Earl Cunningham's paintings, as well as exhibits that have included work by John James Audubon, Amanda Palmer, and self-taught Southern artists.
The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens promotes the legacy of Albin Polaske, N.A., the internationally known sculptor. The museum encourages the study, appreciation, and furtherance of representational art.
The Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College houses more than 6,000 works that include several Italian Renaissance paintings and both American and European art.
The Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts is located in Eatonville, Florida, the home of Zora Neale Hurston. The Association to Preserve the Eatonville Community, Inc. (P.E.C.) sponsors the museum, which presents works by artists of African descent.
