Kids Camps

Young Makers (Oct 18 - Nov 15)

Go from idea to invention with hands-on training in 3D design, electronics, basic engineering and robotics. The camp runs 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on each Saturday. Age requirements: 9-12. Capacity: 8

October 18: 3D Printing: Create a Race Car: Create a Race Car: With easy-to-use 3D modelling software, design and create a model race car using custom shape and object tools. Learn how to give your 3D objects a realistic look and texture.

October 25: Squishy Circuits: Create circuits and explore electronics using conductive dough. Make your Squishy Animal come to life with lights! Learn to make the dough from safe non-toxic household items.

November 1: 3D Design and JitterBots: Use 3D design software and a 3D printer to customize a simple robot. Build a complete JitterBot with motors, batteries and LED lights.

November 8: Soldering Basics: Build a simple circuit with a soldering iron and components. Learn to safely use a soldering iron correctly to join components and wires.

November 15: Create a Custom Glider with the Silhouette Cutter: Create a customized glider using the Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine. Learn the basics of the Silhouette Studio graphic design software including adding shapes, designs and text.

Photo & Graphic Design (Nov 15 Dec 13)

Join other kids to design and create your very own comic book. Along the way you'll learn about storyboarding, photo studio equipment, photo editing, typography, pen tablets, button making, and so much more! The camp is offered Saturdays starting November 15 and ending December 13. From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Age requirements: 9-12. Capacity: 8

November 15: Intro to Cameras and Storyboarding: Design and create a storyboard to begin crafting scenes for your comic book. Learn about DSLR cameras and lenses.

November 22: Photo Shoot and Editing: Work as a team to create photo studio images. Learn how to work with photo studio equipment and lighting set ups. Use Adobe Photoshop to enhance your images and apply effects and filters.

November 29: Design and Typography Using Adobe Illustrator: Design a logo, action words, and speech bubbles for your comic book using Adobe Illustrator. Create a custom pin-backed badge using one of your designs!

December 6: Digital Graphics Using Pen Tablets: Use a Wacom Pen Tablet to design a cover for your comic book. Composite images and drawings using Adobe Photoshop.

December 13: Desktop Publishing Using Adobe InDesign: Design the layout of each page in your comic book in Adobe InDesign. Adjust page setup options to prepare it for printing. Print and assemble your comic book.

Tweens & Teens Camps

Photo & Graphic Design (Nov 1 Nov 29)

Join other teens to design and create your very own comic book. Along the way you'll learn about storyboarding, photo studio equipment, photo editing, typography, pen tablets, button making, and so much more! The camp if offered Saturdays in November, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Age requirements: 11-18. Capacity: 8

Family Camps

Family Fab Camp (Nov 24 Nov 26)

Go from idea to invention with hands-on training in 3D printing, electronics and basic engineering. Parents learn along with their children while helping them build electronic and engineering crafts. Perfect time to make holiday gifts together. This Camp runs 10:30am to 12:30pm Monday, November 24 to Wednesday, November 26. Age requirements: 9-12. Parents should attend the camp and build the projects with their children. Capacity: 8

November 24: Make your holiday cookies one of a kind! Use a simple online tool to design your own custom cookie cutter. Create your own buttons, magnets and key chains using photos and a press. Customize the look of your buttons with graphic design and editing software.

November 25: Create circuits and explore electronics using conductive dough. Make your Squishy Animal come to life with lights! Learn to make the dough from safe non-toxic household items. Create a personalized greeting card with a flashing LED! Use electronic components and conductive paint to construct a simple circuit.

November 26: Create your own buttons, magnets and key chains using photos and a press. Customize the look with graphic design and editing software.
