Latino Americans: Prejudice and Pride

Join the North Orange Branch for the screening of Prejudice and Pride, from the NEH/PBS series Latino Americans: 500 Year Legacy that Shaped a Nation. This is the first major documentary series to chronicle the rich and varied history and experiences of Latinos, who have helped shape the United States over the last 500-plus years and have become, with more than 50 million people, the largest minority group in the U.S. This episode, Prejudice and Pride, depicts the struggle of the farmworkers and their contributions to our society. Guest speaker, Jeannie Economos, the Pesticide Safety and Environmental Health Project Coordinator for the Farmworker Association of Florida, will conduct a discussion after the film screening. Latino Americans: 500 Years of History has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association. #asr15

Memory Testing

Early identification of memory issues is a key element of receiving the appropriate care. Lisa Eade, from Compass Research, is a Master's level clinician trained in the initial assessments related to memory and recall. She will be administrating memory tests free of charge and available to anyone seeking information for themselves or someone they love.
