     Featured Classes of the Month

Microsoft Word is one of the most frequently used software applications today. It helps users create professional-looking content ranging from personal letters to business documents. The Library offers a great variety of classes that cover the different aspects of this great program. Be sure to register today!

Microsoft Word Level 1
Learn word-processing concepts and terminologies. Become familiar with the Microsoft Word environment and create a simple letter using basic Word features. Recommended Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level I

Microsoft Word Level 2
Apply word-processing concepts to documents. Create professional and effective reports using graphics and clipart in Microsoft Word. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level 1

Microsoft Word Level 3
Learn how to create letters and labels using the Microsoft Word’s Mail Merge Wizard to combine multiple documents for mass mailing. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level 2

Microsoft Word Level 4
Learn how to create and format tables using Microsoft Word. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level 2

Microsoft Word: Writing Business Letters
Create a business letter using the Microsoft Word's Letter Wizard Template using various letter styles and writing techniques. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level 1

Microsoft Word: Resume Writing
Use Microsoft Word templates to create a professional looking resume. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level 2

The Library will be offering seven new classes in April! Below you'll find the class descriptions. Click on the class name for additional information.

Editing Digital Images Using GIMP
Learn how to use “GIMP” to edit images or digital photographs.  Practice rescaling, cropping, selecting, or exporting digital-images using the many editing tools. This is a free open source image editing program. Recommended Prerequisite: Publisher Level 1.

Editing Digital Audio Files Using Audacity
Learn how to record, edit, and save digital audio files on your computer. This class will introduce users to the basics of digital-audio editing (cut, copy, paste, trim), and how to save or export your audio file as .wav or .mp3 file format. This is a free open source audio editing program. Recommended Prerequisite: Windows Media Player.

Exploring Google Docs & Spreadsheets
Google Docs & Spreadsheets is a free web-based word processing and spreadsheet program that keeps documents current and let the people you choose update files from their own computer. Recommended Prerequisites: Computer Basics I *An email account is required for this class.

What’s New in Microsoft Office 2007
Find out the new features in Microsoft Office 2007 (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Publisher). Recommended Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level 1.
