Classes

     Featured Classes of the Month

Before you decide which course track to take, learn the recommended basic computer skills you need first. Visit your local Library! You’ll find an array of computer classes that can help you decide which path to take from database development to creating a website. Below you will find a listing of the classes along with the class descriptions.

Microsoft Word Level 1
Learn word-processing concepts and terminologies. Become familiar with the Microsoft Word environment and create a simple letter using basic Word features. Recommended Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level I

Microsoft Excel Level 1
Learn spreadsheet concepts and terminologies. Become familiar with the Microsoft Excel environment and create a simple spreadsheet using basic Excel features. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level I

Internet Level 1
Learn Internet concepts and terminology. Become familiar with the background, flow, and environment of the Internet and browsers. Recommended Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level I

Microsoft Access Templates
Learn how to create a Contact Management Database using the database wizard to store important contact information for your records. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Access Level 1

Microsoft PowerPoint Level I
Learn presentation concepts and terminologies. Become familiar with the PowerPoint environment and create a presentation using slides. Recommended Prerequisite: Microsoft Word Level I

Learn to Speak English at Your Own Pace

Learn to speak English with Ellis, a computer program available at Hiawassee, North Orange, Southeast, South Creek, South Trail and Winter Garden Library locations. Ellis covers basic skills and career set skills on subjects like airports and transportation, hotels, restaurants, hospitality, and office and social skills. Sign up today for an orientation.
