.: Staff Spotlight! Claude T.

Claude has worked with the Orange County Library System for over 7 years. He has worked as Technology Trainer and for the past five years as an Instructional Technology Specialist (ITS). Claude feels that the most enjoyable part of this position as an ITS is the ability to learn as he works. Another part that he likes about being an ITS is that he gets the "chance to help people make a better future for themselves. Since my forte is in training, it gives me great pride to see people I have trained get a better job or become self-sufficient." When Claude is not creating classes for our patrons and staff he spends time with his wife and kids. He likes to take walks in the park with his family, play hide and seek with his kids and on weekends, take road trips around Florida. When asked what he would like to share with students Claude stated "If you do not know anything about computers or need to update your skills, come to the library. We have a wide variety of computer classes at the Orange County Library System that are designed to meet your needs and to help you achieve your goals through hands-on experience and expert instruction. Our computer training can open a whole world of opportunities for you because there is no industry that has been left untouched by computers. Computer skills have practically become a requirement to be able to stay afloat in this age, not only in business but in your personal life as well."

.: Tech Tip of the Month!

Hide the Ribbon

The Ribbon, found in many of the Microsoft Office applications, neatly organizes options and features by task. This makes it easy to find just what you need. As great as the Ribbon is, there may be times when you simply don't need it. Good news, you can hide the Ribbon!

To hide the Ribbon, simply double-click any of the Tabs. If you would like to un-hide the Ribbon, simply double-click any of the Tabs again.
