.: Coming This Summer: Camp Savvy and TechKrew
Our popular summer series of computer classes for kids and teens will be starting in June! Kids can attend Camp Savvy and learn how to use the Virtual Painter, read through animated talking books, and build 3D models. Teens now have the opportunity to join TechKrew to unleash their creative genius! Teens will build their own apps and videogames, mix music, design graphics, and record, edit and add special effects to movies. Enroll and be eligible to win GREAT PRIZES!!

.:: Rocket Languages
If you want to learn a new language or re-familiarize yourself with one you learned and haven't used, Rocket Languages is for you! You can learn at your own pace with this fun database that focuses on conversational language skills. You'll learn through interactive instruction, grammar, cultural lessons, word-building games and more. You can use the learning tools on your computer or your MP3 devices. All you need is your library card and PIN to learn 11 different languages including English for Spanish speakers.
.:Public Computer Access
Did you know that when visiting the public computer area at any location in the Orange County Library System, you get two one-hour sessions free with your Orange County Library card? For those not eligible for a library card, you can purchase a one-hour session for $5 or a seven day pass that allows three one-hour sessions each day, for $10!

.: Staff Spotlight! Jeffrey Johnson
Jeff has worked with the Orange County Library System for eight years as a Technology Trainer at the Herndon Branch. Jeff enjoys assessing what his students' education needs are and providing them with the right tools to improve their life. He is passionate about instilling proper habits in his students from the minute they first touch the mouse. An example of this would be in Mouse and Keyboard, he focuses on ergonomics and proper posture. As an instructor, Jeff says "his role is to inspire students -- to pass on a thirst for knowledge and self-improvement." He feels that he knows he is doing his job correctly when the students want to know more. When not teaching classes, Jeff, who has a B.A. in Anthropology, regularly attends meetings of the Central Florida Archeological Society at Leu Gardens. Jeff states, "Culture and History fascinate me. That's one big reason why I love working at the library."

Would you like to change Internet Explorer or Firefox to be your default browser?
Try using these tips:
Internet Explorer (to make Internet Explorer your default browser):
- Launch Internet Explorer
- Click the Tools button
- Select the Internet Options menu option
- Click the Programs tab
- Click the Make Default button to set Internet Explorer as the default Web browser
Firefox (to make Mozilla Firefox your default browser):
- Launch Firefox
- Select Tool from the Menu bar
- Select Options
- Click the Advanced button
- Under the General tab, click Check Now
- When prompted, click the Yes button to set Firefox as the default Web browser.
