Welcome to our November edition! Check out the What’s New section for details on exciting news about Kindle and OverDrive, and Spanish classes at the Main Library! Are you looking for a job? What's New

.: OverDrive Supports Kindle

October was an exciting month for Kindle owners and library users. OverDrive announced that they now provide their eBook services for Kindle! Most of our library locations offer the Free Downloadable Media: eBooks and Audiobooks class. This class provides an overview on how to download free media for their eReader devices, including Kindle!

.: Spanish Classes at the Main Library

Starting this month the Main Library will offer computer classes taught in Spanish every Saturday at 2 p.m. Starting the first week of the month, we will continue to offer Spanish classes every other Wednesday at 2 p.m. as well. Also, don’t forget that Spanish classes are taught at many branch locations as well, visit our online calendar or call 407.835.7323 to get those dates and times.

.: Advanced Excel 2010 Classes Available

Now available at the Main Library! Our advanced Excel classes have been updated to Excel 2010. Come in and get familiar with Formulas and Functions, Data Management, Creating Basic Macros, and Pivot Tables, all in Excel 2010!

You can attend the Microsoft Office 2007 training series on Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Space is limited, so register today!

Attend our Microsoft Office 2010 training series on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. We are regularly updating the series, so be sure to check-in for new classes. Space is limited, so register today!

Several library locations offer Mac computer classes. Take a class and learn the basics of Mac computers, including the iLife ’08 and iWork ’08 suites. For a full list of available Mac classes, visit our online calendar or call 407.835.7323.

Trying to fit a computer class into your busy schedule? Take our Live Online/Virtual Classes from the comfort of your home or office via the Internet. We offer classes in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and QuickBooks. Get on board and register today! Note: A computer speaker or a headset is required for audio.

.: Self-Paced Online Classes

Enter your library card information and access our Self-Paced Online Classes to take advantage of computer lessons from our most popular classes. Explore topics like Access, Computer Basics, Email, Excel, Word, and more. Note: These tutorials require Flash Player. If you don't have the Flash Player, download it now for free.

.: Small Business Course Tracks

Select a course track that suits your small business interests to learn the latest computer software programs and run your business more efficiently. We provide computer software training on Microsoft Office to create documents and spreadsheets, QuickBooks to manage your finances, HTML to setup a website, Adobe Photoshop to design logos and artwork, and Computer Networking to understand basic networking concepts. .:: ResumeMaker

ResumeMaker offers you a variety of options to assist with your job seeking efforts. Set up an account and create resumes using the resume wizard. You can also create cover letters specific to your job search.
The Interview & Salary tab provides interview videos and possible interview questions. You have the opportunity to see what questions are being asked in interviews, how to respond and what the rationale is behind the question and the response. There is even a Job Search Tools tab that provides search engines and other helpful career tools.

Need more information or in-person help? Our Job Seekers class series and Workshop features the entire job seeking process and includes a demo on ResumeMaker. You will also enjoy an opportunity to role-play in a mock interview! Check out our calendar for locations, dates and times!
