Welcome to the Technology @ OCLS August 2011 Newsletter. Looking for a job and do not know where to start? Gear Up for Success! We are very excited to announce the Job Seeker’s Workshop this month! Look for additional details in the What’s New section! And as always, take advantage of the opportunity to attend an in-person computer class at any of our Library locations or virtually from your home or office computer!

.: Gear Up for Success Today! Job Seekers Workshop

In this workshop you will learn how to create professional resumes and cover letters, and ways to maximize your job search success. You will also get the chance to enhance your interviewing skills through mock interviews. This workshop provides a collaborative learning environment where you can share with and learn from other students. You will build upon skills learned in our previous classes: Resume Writing, Job Seeker Employment Letters, Search and Apply for Jobs Using the Internet, and Improve your Interview Skills. The one hour lab following the workshop will give job seekers time to work on their resumes with a Technology Trainer to help them with formatting, saving, and uploading.

.: Camp Savvy - Back to School Classes

Summer is almost over but learning never ends! Join other students as you embark on a voyage to prepare for the upcoming school year. You will find classes on how to improve your typing skills, write a great book report, and create awesome presentations and spreadsheets. You can even take classes on how to use Photoshop and create a Web Page using a blog. Space is limited, so register today! Select a course track that suits your small business interests to learn the latest computer software programs and run your business more efficiently. Music Online includes African American Music, American Song, Classical Music, Contemporary World Music, Jazz Music, and Smithsonian Global Sound. You can cross-search all the genres of music at one time. Search by album, song, time period, composers, time periods, and several other ways. Selected songs can be sent to your mobile device via email, SMS, entering a link in the Web browser.

.: Big Fish Games for Libraries

Big Fish Games for Libraries gives you access to popular and fun educational video games to play on your computer! Choose from a large selection of arcade games, puzzles, and word games.
