Welcome to the Technology @ OCLS June 2011 Newsletter. Camp Savvy returns for Kids and Teens this month and runs all summer. Check out What’s New for more details! Father’s Day is June 19th; tell your Father how special he is by visiting our Father’s Day events at participating library locations. In addition, take advantage of the opportunity to attend computer classes at any of our Library locations or virtually from your home or office computer!

.: Camp Savvy Returns!

Camp Savvy is a series of computer classes intended for children 6 to 12 and teens 13 to 18. Kids - learn how to create your own cartoon avatar or your very own comic strip and watch your characters come to life!! Teens -- learn how to create video games in our two-part EduGaming class, or learn to direct, produce and edit your own movies! Enroll and be eligible to win GREAT PRIZES!!

Select a course track that suits your small business interests to learn the latest computer software programs and run your business more efficiently. Are you not sure what you want to read, watch, or listen to?  Need a suggestion?  Try OCLS Shake It!  Available on iPhone and Android smartphones, this app allows you to give your phone a shake and get a suggestion for a book, movie, or audiobook.  Or if you like, lock down the audience, genre, or format for more specific results. Next, just tap the screen and you can view the item in the catalog to check its availability!

The OverDrive Media Console app allows you to download library media directly to your smartphone.  Check out eBooks and audiobooks to directly download and enjoy on your iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry, or Windows Mobile device.
