Welcome to the Technology @ OCLS February 2009 Newsletter. It may be the shortest month of the year, but there are still plenty of resources to take advantage of at the Library. Explore Black History Month, check out Central Florida’s Second Life, and attend any of our exciting new computer classes currently being offered.

.: A Second Life for Central Florida

Central Florida Memory’s Second Life exhibit was created to provide access to library and museum content in Central Florida. This digital resource provides information for teachers to bring the region's history into lesson plans, and contributes to the larger body of knowledge of Florida history via access to the Web site. There’s even an exhibit based on this project in the virtual world called Second Life. In this environment experience walking through buildings and farm yards, touching virtual objects, and partaking in self-paced presentations. .
