Welcome to the Technology @ OCLS October 2008 Newsletter. This month there are activities for everyone. Find everything from the scariest places in Florida, to how to download a bestseller to your portable device. While you’re planning activities for the Halloween season, take advantage of available computer classes at any of our Library locations or online from your home or office computer.

Learn the basic features of QuickBooks to get you started in organizing your personal or business finances.

Learn how to set up a new company profile including the Vendor Center, Customer Center, and adding Items.

Online Class: QuickBooks Level 2
Learn how to record different types of business transactions such as posting accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Online Class: Introduction to GanttProject
Schedule and manage work projects easily and assign tasks and resources efficiently using Gantt and PERT charts with this free open source application. 

Online Class: Introduction to Microsoft Access 2007
Learn database concepts and terminology.  Become familiar with the Microsoft Access environment and explore database objects such as tables, queries, forms, and reports.

Online Class: Microsoft Excel 2007 Formulas and Functions
Learn how to create basic financial and logical functions for calculating a mortgage payment as well as future investment value.

From October 5-10 and October 19-24, you can attend the Microsoft training series in Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Space is limited, so register today!

This two-class series introduces you to features that can be used when creating professional publications, including newsletters, calendars, and business cards.

This six-class series introduces you to features that can be used when creating professional documents, including inserting and formatting tables, and mail merge.

Microsoft Excel SeriesOctober 7 and 21
This six-class series introduces you to features that can be used when creating professional spreadsheets that include formulas, charts, and pivot tables.

Microsoft Access SeriesOctober 8 and 22
This five-class series introduces you to features that can be used when creating a database to track and present data with tables, queries, forms, and reports.

Microsoft PowerPoint SeriesOctober 10 and 20
This four-class series introduces you to features that can be used when creating professional slide shows with animations and slide transitions.

Microsoft Outlook SeriesOctober 6 and 23
This four-class series introduces you to features that can be used when creating e-mails, appointments, contact lists, folders, and task assignments.
