     Technology Connection

.:: Microsoft Word: Inputting Without Typing
By: Lisa Dorman, Technology & Customer Support Specialist
Winter Garden Branch

Are you tired of typing the same words and/or phrases over and over? In Microsoft Word, go to the Tools menu, and click on AutoCorrect. There are several tab options available. Click on the AutoText tab and enter a word, sentence, or phrase in the text box and then click on Add. Those words, sentences and phrases you typed in AutoText will now pop up after you type the first few letters. When the phrase is displayed, press ENTER to insert the text. This is a great time saver and cuts down your typing time!

.:: Edgewater Branch Connection

For patrons who are ready for the next level, the Edgewater Branch is now offering two new classes! Our first new class, Web 2.0 Basics, teaches you how to have a little more fun with the Internet and explores topics such as creating a web log and all the cool features that comes along with it. The second is Basic Computer Maintenance & Security, where you will learn how to keep your computers up and running and safe from outside intruders or viruses.
