Can I turn the captions for Online Videos off?

Yes. Here are instructions for turning captions on or off depending on the type of player you are using to view online videos.

Turning captions on/off in the Flash Player:

  • Click the "CC" button next to the sound control in the Flash Video Player.
Turning captions on/off in Windows Media Player 9 and 10:
  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Choose "Play" on the top menu.
  3. Choose "Captions And Subtitles" in the Play menu.
  4. Select "On If Available."
Turning captions on/off in Windows Media Player 7:
  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Choose "View" on the top menu.
  3. Choose "Now Playing Tools" in the View menu.
  4. Select "Captions."
Turning captions on/off in Windows Media Player 6.4:
  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Choose "View" on the top menu.
  3. Select "Captions."
