Animanga Reality Contest: An anime/manga character contest

Attention aspiring artists! Create your very own anime/manga character or comic strip. Draw your character, create the character traits and enter to win! Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Winners will be announced at the Animanga Mini-Con Party on November 19

at 6 p.m. Pick up an entry form at any Orange County Library System location. Deadline for entries is November 16. Ages 13-18.

*Orange County resident, property owner or Fee Library Card in good standing is required to enter. 

Trapped in a Book: Worst Case Scenario

Teens, ever wonder what would happen if you were trapped in a book? See if you can survive some of the hottest banned books, shocking worst case scenario trivia, and hilariously disgusting questions. Be sure to bring your friends! Ages 13-18.

Join our teen advisory board to meet new people and develop teen library programs and services while earning community service hours. This board meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. Ages 13-18. 

The November meeting has been changed to the second Tuesday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Author and the City Beautiful :Author to discuss college survival

Orlando Public Library, Library Central: Saturday, November 14, 12:30 p.m.


Equip yourself or your college-bound student with the keys to college success. Author Chantal Korkis will discuss her helpful book The College Conqueror’s Handbook, a must read for any student. In the book, Korkis outlines strategies for conquering exams, term papers, schedule building, as well as balancing your academic and social life. She also gives advice on managing your money, time and resources to maximize your efficiency. A book sale and signing will follow the program. Admission is free to all. A.R.T.: Put a Spin on This

Orlando Public Library, Library Central: Wednesday,  November 18, 3:30 p.m.

Learn to mix and scratch music to create new beats. A DJ will discuss the history and skills required to master this art with teens ages 13 - 18. Registration is required, call 407.835.7323.

Animanga Mini-Con Party

It's Japanamania! Join us for this anime and manga-inspired mini-convention style party! Enjoy activities, games and contests. Don't forget to dress up as your favorite manga or anime character for our annual Cosplay Competition. The winners of the Animanga Reality Contest will be announced. This program is hosted by the Animanga Club. The club meets the third Thursday of every month. Ages 13-18.
