This novel may remind readers of A Time to Kill; this novel was based in 1970 following the character William Traynor who went to Clanton, Mississippi for an internship at a local newspaper, The Ford County Times. But the newspaper went into bankruptcy and got a new editor. At the same time Danny Padgitt was found guilty for the murder of a woman. Danny is sentenced to life in prison at the Mississippi State Penitentiary before vowing revenge. He is later paroled and returns to Clanton. Two of the jurors from his trail are killed, leading people to think Danny killed them. Willie was following the trail of Danny and became friends with one of the jurors Callie Ruffin, the first black woman to serve on a jury. However, the novel has a twist which introduces a new character, who is schizophrenic, meaning he hears voices telling him towhat to do. This novel contains mild violence and is an interesting suspense novel for readers in their late teens and adults.
