Stopping the inevitable
by Jill Crotty
Tick, Tick goes the clock with inevitable tocks.
A wooden door closes and silently locks.
Sighs and inaudible cries carry through my heart.
I feel the impatience tearing me apart.
Hang on , stand strong and try to have the courage to go on.
I should have left this fear with dreams that are foregone.
Waiting is an agony that makes me want to scream.
All I want to do is lie down and dream.
