Changes to DVD and Hold Policies
With an eye toward reducing our overall operating expenditures during these challenging economic times, OCLS has had to make some changes to a few policies.
The maximum number of requests (holds) that can be placed on a library card is 10. This is a reduction from the maximum of 20 holds that were previously allowed. Your card is still eligible for use if you have more than 10 holds placed prior to this change, but you will not be able to place additional holds until your number drops below 10.
The maximum number of DVDs that can be checked out on a library card is 20.
This is an increase from the maximum of 15 that were previously allowed.
All DVDs, including newly released titles, will be eligible for renewal up to three times as long as your card is in good standing.
Entertainment DVDs can no longer be requested (put on hold). Informational DVDs can still be placed on hold and requested for home delivery.
